Information for Carers

"You are a carer is you look after a family member, partner, friend or neighbour who due to physical or mental illness, disability, age related difficulties or an addiction cannot cope without your support"

As a Practice, we understand that being a carer can at times be stressful and may leave you feeling isolated and alone. We want to ensure that being a carer is a positive experience, which is why it's extremely important that you inform us of your caring role.

Did you know there are 1 in 9 adults in Kent who are carers? And that 3 in 5 people in Kent will become a carer at some point in their lives?

How can we help you?

  • Offer flexible appointment times, priority time slots of home visits to fit with your caring role
  • Invite you in for an annual influenza vaccine
  • Offer regular conversations to check how you're managing with your caring role and whether you need any support
  • Refer you to services for more specialised information, advice and support
